A note about Sam’s series on running.

___

She started with the one entitled “Challenges? Try Running.”

Then we talked about how sound can be used as a poetic device to push the image even more. The last five poems in the series, she did in about an hour. All of them, except for the one playing with repetition, are done with (very, very) little or no (none at all!) help from her teacher.

The last one, entitled “Running in Repetition,” we did in collaboration. Some lines were hers, some were mine – but the thoughts in ALL the poems are purely, fully, truly hers.

Hi, Sam. Wonderful! I know you have hidden talent somwhere but I did not expect it to be in poem writing. Go on Sam, soar high with your poem writing. Who knows, someday and somewhere you will be recognized as one of the greatest poem writers of the country. You know, poets usually have more talents than poem writing. Explore that too. But one thing, I surely know, poets have the kindest of hearts. Love you, Babe.
